Photography is an area I’ve always had an appreciation for, so it’s not surprising my love of the subject slowly began to seep into my design work. My choice of final project at university was inspired by the architecture of Manchester and Salford Quays, which led to the creation of a series of photographs and a typeface celebrating the diverse nature of the buildings, and the amazing contrast between their modern and older traditional structures.
From this project was born an ongoing love of street and architecture photography, one which I continue to pursue in personal projects. London’s Shoreditch and Brick Lane are favourite locations of mine due to the amazing selection of street art and interesting characters in the area.
These projects outside of my corporate work are important to me as it’s a great way to produce the work I love with no creative boundaries, and continue to grow as a photographer by focusing on areas I would not be able to otherwise, such as model photography.
My work is due to be shown in at least two exhibitions this year, and I have several other shoots planned over the next few months.
